Soundscapes

First, over the next five years Easy Wonder will be recording and documenting sounds in biomes around the world.
Our main focus? To bring more attention to the declining coastlines that are in “total loss” crisis because of climate change. The audio captured called “soundscapes” in these disappearing seaboards, beaches and shorelines will be used to observe, study, analyze and experience raw wild habitats, thriving and unhealthy alike. What future generations understand about today’s nature in marine and coastal will be? Only time will tell. We aim to document these endangered areas before the effects of climate change stress them beyond a livable habitat before anyone had a chance to hear them.

Second, we will also be documenting what sounds are moving in and out of the distressed areas (if any yet) and gage the level of human sounds impacting (noise pollution) in and around the areas we capture and document. The result and effect of our rising oceans, lakes, rivers, reservoirs and seas are still unknown and we aim to contribute in understanding this. We believe there is an urgency to capture each habitat for their own unique sonic signatures. Through soundscape each person has the ability to become more mindful of their audio surroundings. Taking this step towards understanding wild life health and healthy habitats in the area they live can help understand how much human based noise pollution produces unhealthy habitats for new life to thrive.

Finally, we will be producing a sound bank of mindful meditations as we travel around the world. Why is this any different than the other sound libraries already out there? Our soundscapes will be from the point of view of climate change effects with the purpose of education. Also, creating a bank of a plethora of source (example, waterfalls).
Right now, in most mediation soundscapes you can find one or two waterfall sounds that are looped and objectified versus a library of 20 waterfalls that are all from different places in the world, identified and documented as a specific type of habitat. Some waterfalls could be thriving, and others may not. The point? To bring a higher level of understanding habitats to the mainstream listening experience and to set a new foundation in mindful listening.
